The following was received from a guest shortly after she & her family got back home from their 5 night stay at Sunset Beach. Posted here with permission of course, and links to places mentioned added in case you want to find out more!
[Time flew} by but we had an excellent time. Judy took such great care of us and Chapin was wonderful! We absolutely fell in love with San Pedro and my husband is already looking for property there. The condo was just what we needed and my mother was so pleased with everything. I am sure you already know how great Judy is but I have to tell you she was a life saver for us. She was so patient and kind and answered all of our newbie questions. We just feel in love with her and wish we had more time to just hang out and visit with her. She is a keeper for sure! Guess that means we need to come back huh? Lol
We did an excursion with Suya Tours to Lamanai Mayan Ruins and that was just an amazing day. Long day, but worth every second. My husband and I climbed to the top of the High Temple … WOW what a breath taking view above the jungle canopy. Just touching those stones that had been sitting there for so many years was amazing. My mother got to feed her banana to a spider monkey from the jungle river boat (a real highlight for her). They fed us breakfast and lunch and our tour guide Allan was magnificent. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. And even though our excursion boat broke down in the middle of the ocean and we had to wait for Suya Tours to send another boat out to save us … it was still a great time. We sat in the middle of ocean, drinking rum punch, watching the sun set. It was like the bonus adventure of the day.
We chartered a boat one day from a local and went reef fishing, snorkeling, conch diving and more. They made us conch ceviche and cooked our catch over a fire and fed us at a resort sitting on the beach. This was so much fun!
We of course shopped till we dropped and we ate so much great food every day. Black Orchid and Blue Water Grill were our two favorite places. We also ate at Island Time, the Tex Mex place right up the road from the condo [Lone Star Grill], Caliente’s and Wild Mango’s in town were really good too. Judy told us about The Baker so we stopped by there for some yummy treats and Rum + Bean was outstanding also. We got chocolate from the Belize Chocolate place right by Blue Water Grill. So basically we ate drank ate drank and ate some more! Lol
Everyone was just so friendly and helpful. We have friends who have property there and they sent us to Coco Beach Resort for the Frozen Coco Mojitos….this is A MUST TRY for everyone. The resort is gorgeous and the Frozen Coco Mojitos were our favorite drink of the trip.
We had fun in our golf cart zooming around town! Bumps and all! We … hope to come back and visit your place again very soon.
Thank you for everything — it was a trip to remember!!
